Im Baaaaacccckkkk!

Hopefully the title sounded really creepy in your head, that’s the effect I was aiming for anyways. Well good news and bad news, bad news is my camera died and that’s why I havent been able to post. Now the good news, I have an awesome mom who bought me a beautiful new camera with 12.2 megapixels! My old one only had five. Now I can take the beautiful pictures that y’all deserve.  Because of this life changing new camera I have decided to commence a blog makeover, there will be more frequent blogs and there will be more food and pictures YAY! In honor of the makeover I have also decided to do my first review…

      Flax Plus, Multibran

Flax plus Multibran cereal had a really good nutty flavor, and the texture was not bad at all. Also another plus is that its certified USDA organic, and it only has eight ingredients (Organic whole wheat, organic wheat bran, organic evaporated cane juice, organic flax, organic oat bran, organic barley malt extract, sea salt, and Tocopherols (natural vitamin E). Overall when it come to taste and healthiness I would give it  4 stars.

After breakfast my mom decided that she wanted to go to the mall and after looking around for a bit let me tell ya’ we got hungry. So we decided to stop over at California Pizza Kitchen. As we sat down and started to look over menus I was bracing myself for the worst, the worst being me having to get a salad (yuck), so imagine my delight when I saw humus as an appetizer. I was so excited I was practically jumping up and down in my seat. Then when it came to our table, the only word to sum it up is YUM. To help me out here’s a picture,

I’m not usually a fan of plain humus, I’m a red pepper girl myself, but with the ripe  tomatoes on top and the fresh-from-the-oven pita bread, it was great.

Then a couple of days ago, while out buying my new camera, my mom decided that she wanted those huge baked potatoes and close by there was a lone star, so off we went. I was really pleased with lone star because when I asked for a sweet potatoes and brocoli completely plain, I usually get strange looks and tons of questions from the waiter but she was very nice and very accommodating. That definitely made my day and so did this HUGE sweet potatoes,

Isn’t  it massive, it was also delicious by the way :). Well I hope you guys have a great next couple of day, and by the way do any of you know a good vegan whip cream recipe thanks!

Dinosoars and Dummys

Hello again I know its been awhile since I’ve posted, unfortunately I’ve come to the conclusion that I have the worlds worst camera. I know its sad, but true, hopefully I’ll be getting a new one so I can promise you guys regular posts. Moving on, I realized while walking around Wal-Mart that something pretty silly is going on..

Warning labels, we see them everywhere where always reading them for kicks and giggles, but I mean come on do we really need them. I guess there was probably some person who wasnt watching their kid and the kid decided to use Wal-Mart shelves as a jungle gym. Then when that poor little kid fell and broke something, then the mother heard kaching kaching and got a lawyer so she could sue. That’s how these things usually go. Someone takes a sip of coffee burns their tongue, now McDonald’s has a CAUTION THIS DRINK IS HOT warning, gosh some people are just crazy.Whats the silliest warning label you’ve ever seen?

The real reason I was at Wal-Mart to begin with was to buy band aids though. To be honest I’m a total klutz. I’ve broken ten bones, my tenth was one of my toes which I broke like a week ago. While picking out band aids though I was truly having a hard time deciding between sponge bob and toy story band aids, I was having a silent debate with my self and to be honest people where looking at me like I was insane, but hey when you have options like sponge bob and Toy Story its worth it. So I ended up choosing…

Toy Story!!!, what truly won me over was that they had the aliens and Rex, come on how could you say no to aliens and dinosaurs, I know I cant ( I’m a wimp).  Also my brother started grumbling for me to hurry up (he’s so impatient) so I had to choose fast, although I hate being rushed. I headed out of Wal-Mart entertained and happy about my dinosaur bad aids, although my brother was embarrassed because in the middle of Wal-Mart I was breaking the box open and searching for the dinosaur and alien one :)!

Well having to decide over those bad aids wore me out, so I’ll see you guys later, have a great week!

Happy Fourth of July!

Happy Fourth of July everyone, yes I know it was yesterday, but I got lazy and caught up in the celebration. I hope you guys had a  great weekend. I know I did, nothing starts a party like your brothers doing stupid things with fireworks! So my brother come home for the weekend and wanted to hang out so we went out to eat. He decided  that he wanted to go somewhere really fancy so we went out to the fabulous subway. I know right he really shouldnt have.

six-inch sub with black olives, spinach, and the red pepper relish on italian bread

I was a little disappointed that I had to get a non whole wheat bread, but apparently they have honey in them, but that’s okay.

his is my brothers meal, a slushy. Sigh…

For the Fourth of July my family had a cook out, I was kinda dreading this because I didn’t think there would be a lot for me to eat but it actually went really well. My sister in-law actually looked up a vegan slaw  recipe that was really good.

    Slaw, cherrys, and roasted corn

 Slaw recipe:

6 cups chopped cabbage

2 cups sliced green and red peppers

1 1/2 cups sliced celery

1cup sliced onions

3/4 cup shreded carrots

1/2 cup vegtable oil ( it was a little to oily for me so I would honestly use less )

2 TBsp. sugar

3 TBsp balsmic vinegar

1 TBsp mustard

I liked it because the flavor was very suprising when it all came together it was very sweet and tart, hope you guys lik it , I’m gonna go for a run. Have a great rest of the week.

Salads, Smart cars, and Surprising people

Dinner a couple of nights ago was a surprise as I wrote, but  my mother wanted to surprise torture me by taking me to go see eclipse after dinner. Yes most teenage girls would be thrilled at this aspect, but me not so much. Don’t get me wrong the books where good, not the best I’ve read, but good. As for the movie though I sometimes feel like they take advantage of  teenage girls who are in love with the whole “Team Edward” and “Team Jacob” thing, but if you like it I’m not judging you it’s just a personal opinion kinda thing. So  for dinner on our way to the movies we stopped at  Moe’s Southwest Grill, which because they have tofu, and you make it yourself, and now they have WHOLE WHEAT WRAPS  (insert girly little scream here), eating there is very convenient for me. That day though as I walked in to order my usual  quesadilla there was a new person, sigh. Now I go to this place often because as a vegan if there’s a place you can eat at conveniently its like gold. That’s one of the main reasons its convenient, they know you, I didn’t let the new guy discourage me though, I walked straight up to the area where you assemble the quesadillas  and proudly said what I wanted. Then he started to talk “No cheese, are you sure?”. Oh well

Quesadilla with black beans, mushrooms, black olives, and green peppers

So after that we went to the movies and…..

The movie theater was shut down and we couldn’t see the movie, I know I was supposed to go to the movie and realize how awesome twilight was and fall in love with it, sorry didn’t happen.

Yesterday me and my mom went out to eat with friends to Sweet Tomatoes, it’s this soup, salad, and pasta place. Now as a vegan you have to be prepared for everything, so I went online and checked out there daily menu, and was very excited to see they had a vegan soup available. I headed out that morning feeling hope and in the buffet line i got a HUGE salad!

Spinach salad, Chickpeas, Corn, Black Olives, Whole Wheat Pasta, and Vegan Salad Dressing

They unfortunately did not have the vegan soup, but heres where the suprising people comes into the story, he went back to the kitchen and asked if they had any vegan soup on hand! They didn’t, but it was still very nice of him to ask. Well I’ve got to go feed my pig, y’all have a great weekend.

By the way on the way out of the restaurant I saw a smart car, they’re so cute!
